I’ve lived in many cities in four different countries, but my heart will always belong to Bogotá, Colombia, where I was born. Colombia gave me my love of fútbol, café, chorizo con arepa, and the music of Shakira, Juanes, Bomba Estéreo, and Carlos Vives blaring from every street corner. Living in Ecuador gave me a taste for tall mountains and great seafood. I spent two years on the island of Bonaire in the Caribbean, so a pink sand beach is my retirement plan. I currently live in the Chicago suburbs, where I can ride my bike anywhere, work in my vegetable garden, and take my boys on train rides into the Windy City.
